Welcome…

…to the home of the East Texas band, Bongo and the Point, featuring acoustic guitar, bass, drums, and lush harmonies usually associated exclusively with family members. People have compared our vocal sound to The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, The Four Seasons, The Hollies, and The Everly Brothers. After working in the recording studio for a few years, we have been playing live locally since 2007.

New "Old" Album Coming

We haven't been able to get into the studio for a couple of months now and Bree is out of town for a couple of weeks. So we haven't had a "Song Of the Week" for awhile. What to do? Well, what we're going to do is give you some. It won't exactly be Bongo & the Point. It's Jim & Dee. The album I'm going to be putting up was called, "Help Is On the Way." It was recorded by Sparrow Records in 1976 and was produced by Al Perkins and featured performances by musicians like Bill Maxwell, Al Perkins, Beau MacDougall, among others. It also featured the vocal talents of an as yet unknown singer by the name of Keith Green on a couple of tracks.
So beginning this week enjoy some old-time "Jesus Music" and start another album collection. The first song is the title track, "Help Is On the Way."

Book Available Now!

"Grandmother's Heart," book one of "The Tales Of Altura," is available now. Jim and Dee wrote this junior novel. It was first published in 1980 by Bethany House Publishers. It has been out of print for many years but will be out again in just a few weeks. We will let you know when it arrives and will begin shipping.  It is a fantasy, in the vain of "The Chronicles of Narnia." There is something wrong with Grandmother but the children don't know what. They don't realize that her sickness is tied to the condition of the Kingdom of Altura. Will they be able to help grandmother and the King as well?
